About One Day Away

One Day Away is a tiny, independent publishing project focused on one thing:
making day trips from major cities less confusing and more enjoyable for international travelers.
We start with Tokyo and will gradually expand to other cities around the world.

Our Publishing Philosophy

Most travel content is either too shallow or too overwhelming.
Blog posts list dozens of places without showing you how to connect them in a realistic day.
Guidebooks sometimes assume perfect energy, weather, and timing.
One Day Away focuses on “doable” itineraries: clear start and end points,
honest walking times, backup options, and train-based routes that a solo traveler can follow.

About the Creator

I’m a Japan-based travel content creator who has spent years working in the tourism industry,
especially on audio guides and digital storytelling for visitors.
Through this work, I’ve seen the same questions again and again:
“Is this day trip realistic?” “How do I connect all these spots by train?”
This project is my way of answering those questions with clear, practical itineraries.
